The search for the suspect stemmed from an incident in Windham County on Wednesday, Oct. 4 just after 5:10 p.m., when the Putnam Police Department responded to a municipal parking lot along the River Trail at 98 Kennedy Dr. for a reported car break-in.

According to the department, officers then determined that the victim's rear car window had been broken and a purse had been stolen from inside.

Days later, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, the victim was notified by a Webster Bank in the Tolland County town of Vernon that a woman had tried cashing a check in her name, police said.

Authorities later released an image of the suspect that was captured by the bank's surveillance cameras. She had been driving a white Range Rover SUV.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the suspect's identity is asked to call Officer Roy Hicks of the Putnam Police Department at 860-928-6565.
